THOMAS VÖLKER (born in Hamburg / Germany) is a multimedia artist and filmmaker.
Originally trained as an orchestral percussionist, he later turned his attention to web design, art and filmmaking.
Völker`s work ranges from painting, performance and installation to moving images and sound.
In recent years, his films have been shown in Berlin, London, Vienna, Buenos Aires, Johannesburg and, most recently, Beijing.
Völker studied with Russell Mills, Jon Wozencroft and Neville Brody at the Royal College of Art in London where he organised and curated the Viewing / Listening Space – a regular event that is dedicated to showcasing the work of experimental filmmakers and sound artists – which has become a permanent forum, a time and place for discussion and analysis.
Völker lived and worked in Berlin until 2017.
He now lives in Saffron Walden (Essex / UK).
